Landyachtz longboards are skateboards that are designed to go the distance. They are an excellent alternative to motorized vehicles when you'd rather enjoy the fresh air on your way to school or to run a few errands around town. The boards are also great for a few tricks with friends. After purchasing Landyachtz boards, you'll need to follow a few steps to keep them in tip top shape. Not only will this keep them looking like new, but it will also help them last a long time.

Avoid Certain Surfaces

Things like sand and water can really damage your board. Sand makes its way up into the bearings and water can lead to the board rotting. If you must take your Landyachtz board out in the rain, be sure to swerve around any puddles. When you reach your destination, take a few minutes to dry the board off with a towel.

Clean and Lubricate the Bearings

It's best to clean and lubricate your bearings every so often instead of waiting for a problem to occur. Remove the bearings and soak them in either rubbing alcohol or mineral spirits to get the grease off. If your bearings have rubber seals instead of metal, you'll need to remove them before putting them in the solvent. Once the bearings are clean, you'll need to set them on a paper towel sheet to dry. Add a little lubricant to the bearings before reinstalling them on your longboard.

Inspect and Rotate the Wheels

The wheels are the part of the Landyachtz board that will receive the most wear and tear. It's a good idea to inspect them from time to time. If the wheels are looking worn, it is a good idea to replace them. If not, go ahead and rotate them. Rotating the wheels works to extend their life, since one side is typically used more than the other. This is the same reason the tires on a vehicle are rotated.

Clean the Deck

The last step is to periodically clean the deck. This is easily accomplished with a bucket of soapy water and a soft-bristle brush. Start on the top of the board's deck and then once that's clean, flip it over and work on the underside. The brush will help you remove any stuck-on debris. Next, rinse the longboard with water until all the soap is removed. Finish by immediately drying the entire board with a towel so that there is no damage from the water.
